HOW I WORK
03
Designers Aren't Cavemen
It wasn't labor alone that made us human, communication came first. Designers are the bridge between every part of the team, which is why constant and deep contact with business, marketing, and engineering isn't good practice. It's a necessity.
No Gatekeeping
Every developer I've worked with could reach me at any moment. And they knew it. I don't sit behind a handoff file. I stay in the room, answer questions, explain decisions, and correct course in real time.
Own the Call
Someone has to own the decision, ship it, and stand behind it. I treat design accountability as a core part of the job, not a soft skill.
Systems over Chaos
A well-built design system is infrastructure. When components are solid, engineers stop guessing and AI-assisted development actually works. Vibe-coding on top of a coherent system produces viable code. On chaos, it produces more chaos.
AI is Already Here
AI is already part of how I work: in research, documentation, and early validation. The goal isn't to mock everything upfront. It's to stay aligned with engineering as things get built, and do the last-mile work that turns a prototype into something real.
Clarity Is Non-Negotiable
I treat Figma files like architecture diagrams. Every frame annotated, every flow traceable. Startup pace demands compromises, but never at the cost of clarity for the people building from your files.
